Pros and cons of NYArtBeat app for iPhone and iPad

NYArtBeat app good for

I hope Four stars is as good as getting five. The only reason I did not give this app Five Stars is because my experience with Art apps is strong, but I am not an Industry Expert- yet! I do believe this application offers more information than any of the others on the iOS market and the user experience has been the best I have yet to come by when seeking information about exhibits artists and galleries throughout New York City and surrounding region. Furthermore it is not limited to a specific Event like many others Ive used, e.g., Art Basel (although grateful for event specific tools as well). I look forward to getting more use of the info provided - the content heads deserve a pat on the back (developers of course, as well). Okay the entire team gets a high five! Thanks for all of your hard work and providing Artists and Fans with useful info. I hope users are enjoying across the globe. Is there a way to get updates on app and sources? I will look into answering this question and I do apologize in advance should it already be readily available. My best!
A voracious art enthusiast, I use this elegant app pretty much daily. Listed are all the shows Ive read about and already earmarked, and so many more that I may not have found otherwise. Such love.
I wish it had better sorting options, opening plus Chelsea but over all its useful
I love everything about the app, locations, galleries, medium, bookmarks, openings. One wish list item I would like is somehow to archive bookmarks of past events into a passed event folder. This way, even if I missed an exhibit, I can look for the artist in the future. Maybe also make an option for people to keep or clear bookmarks of passed events. Thanks! Keep up the good work!
Very helpful! Its nice to have everything consolidated into one place. I use it all the time.
Every person interested in art, especially professionals, living in the NYC area should get this app.

Some bad moments

The app shuts itself down after about 30 seconds of use. Every time. Since I first downloaded it. Can you guys fix this please???
App closes on me after a minute. Its impossible to use. I would like it a lot if this error is fixed.
The word "loading" is stuck on the popular page, please fix this is annoying
Please include option to search galleries by name, option to visit gallery website with in the app. Would be great to have option to add galleries to fav list and be able to swipe and mark the once I already visited.
The actual information they have within the app is par excellance. But it’s presented in a very dumb way. For example: if I select “Nearby,” it’d because I want to see what’s, well, nearby. It shows the hours of galleries, but why doesn’t it filter out the ones that are closed if it has access to the phone clock? Why won’t it notify me that a show I have bookmarked is closing tomorrow? Like I said: good information if I dedicate time to reading everything, but it could be so much cleverer and helpful if it tried.
This app may eventually be okay for what it is. But there are a few no-brainer features missing. You cant find the exhibits at a specific museum without first being at the location which makes it ridiculously difficult to plan ahead. In addition, there is no search function. The "art talk" section is pointless since on any given day there are literally dozens of events like that at the Met alone, but it only shows two items -- one vague listing for the Cloisters and another somewhere else. Overall, seems like a very good idea that could eventually be useable with a LOT more development. Pretty useless right now.
